What is Global Warming?

This page is still undergoing construction, there is missing sections that I still need to research. Please be pateint and hope you can use the information that I have already provided.
Thanks

This page is for anyone seeking information about global warming. Below is an Index

Intro

Global Warming, everyone wants to know about it. Weather they are sceptics or people wanting to take action. That’s what this page is all about, giving you the facts to make an educational decision. Or if you want to take action against Global Warming, and want to learn more, then this is the place for you. I will provide as much information as possible for you to understand what’s happening. Of course I will not pull all the information out of my head like a pro, but will gather from other sites and all the links will be on the bottom of this page. Also pictures will be collected from the Internet with links to the main source. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please leave them on the bottom of this page in the form of a comment, or e-mail me at aspaz125@yahoo.com. Don’t expect an immediate response, I only check e-mails on the weekends. Please let me know if I am giving false info, or something is missing in a section.

What is Global Warming?

Global Warming is exactly what it sounds like; the Earth’s global temperatures rising. Of course this happens at a slow rate and at the moment is growing at about 1 degree Fahrenheit each year igve or take a little. This to most people, sounds like nothing. But consider this, if we keep putting more and more C02 into the atmosphere, temperatures could rise at 2 or 3 degrees each year. Still sounds like only a smidge of weather differences? Nope, this is a very dramatic thing. With rising temperatures plants and crops will die, animals with have more trouble finding water if they live in a harsh climate, Glacial ice will melt rapidly, tropical storms will increase in numbers and intensity (and that’s only a small amount of what is and what will happen over time). Not good. 2005 was the hottest year on record in a century and 1998, 2003, 2004 were next in line. Global Warming has been going on for centuries (just not as intense as it is now) and without it Earth would become inhabitable.

The Green House Effect

Most people have heard about this, and usually from what information is given to them, they think “Great something that’s warming the Earth, and we can’t stop it!” Well this is the natural cause of Global Warming, it’s supposed to happen. Like its name states the Green House Effect acts as a green house to the Earth, The Earth (in this situation) are all the plants in the green house, the atmosphere will be our glass walls and roof, and the Sun will be…. the Sun. What happens is that the sun sends light to our Earth, but before it reaches the surface it must pass the atmosphere. The atmosphere (being the layer of glass) makes the light less intense (meaning not so hot), so when it does get to us it provides warmth and light. And without this system the Earth will become inhabitable. Here is a small demonstration of what happens:

(more coming soon!)

So as you can see not ALL light is absorbed, and light that is taken is used for good things. So many people wonder “So why is Earth getting hotter at such a fast rate?” This will answered in the next section.

Fossil Fuels

You love them, and you hate them. Fossil fuels power our vehicles and home appliances, while at the same time they are ripping a hole in our O-Zone. As you probably already know that currently we are consuming a massive amount of fossil fuels, millions of tons have been burned. So where did they come from? Well most came from decomposed plants and animals from back when dinosaurs were around. When an animal died back then, other animals would feed off it’s rotting body until nothing but bones remained. Then over the years these would become covered in dirt and soil and water and mud. After about one-thousand years or so the bones have become fossilized they are exposed to the heat and pressure from the Earth. Chemical changes would take place and BOOM oil, natural gas, and other fuels are created. Fossil Fuels are claimed to be non-renewable because they take millions upon millions of years to form, but in my opinion something can be formed over ANY amount of time, it is renewable.

The Human Effect

Global Warming (as read above) is a natural thing that will keep the Earth habitable, but it’s resources are precious and we as a whole, have abused them tremendously. We have

*greatly polluted our air and water by exposing it to our trash and wastes.
*cut down millions of trees to use for our products
*destroyed animal habitats by taking essential resources from them
*Drilled a very large portion of our entire planet’s oil reserves
*created land-fills for our no longer needed items (trash)

We have done so much to our planet that there isn’t much left to take, but as we progress in to the future our species (the Human species) is becoming smarter each year. Meaning, we are finding new ways to power our daily lives, like solar panels, large windmills, hydraulic power plants, and Geo-thermal energy. Currently, our new President Elect has basically stated that Global Warming is a problem, and that we as a nation should address it. He has also promised new jobs involving creating new energy sources and using them to be Eco-friendly.

What Might Happen

There will be 3 different scenarios, the first is if we do absolutely every thing we can to prevent Global Warming, this includes governments spending billions, possible job losses, way less use of fossil fuels and more of wind, water, geothermal, and solar energy this will keep the planet much safer, but at the loss of people’s possessions, like property even jobs. Scenario 2 is we continue to stay at the Rate we are going now, conserving our money but still helping out without the chance of national bankruptcy, we use cleaner energy’s but still use fossil fuels, and people will be able to keep more jobs. The third and final scenario includes, we shut down all clean energy sources, we begin starting wars over oil, the government hold enough money to keep our nation going for a few more years, food is rationed in families. Of course no one in their right mind would want option 3, if there was a one word definition for option 3 it would be CHAOS! Options one and two are OK… So let’s play out some scenarios…:D

(More will be added soon! I promise! :D)

What is Already Happening

Who Is Working Against Global Warming

Well us of course! Jduck and I are giving the best we can give to help better our planet and its environments for the future! But we’re not alone, oh no-sir-ee-bob! We are merely a fragment of the entire group of people who want to change the world as well. Here are some, maybe you may reccogzie a few?:

What we do know for sure is that we have

Some animals have already been going endangered and extinct. This can effect us if we eat those animals. I’m a vegitarian so no. Plus, fish are disapearing too and that can effect both us and animals. And news channels have predicted that in the next decade, penguins will have vanished from the face of the earth. WE NEED TO HELP IT SO DONT LITTER, RECYCLE, AND DO WHATEVER YOU CAN! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I BEG OF U!

Wow, I am very impressed with the information and your blog, keep up the good work! I am very passionate about this issue and I think everyone needs to take the requisite steps to safe the earth, it seems that we have been destroying it for to long and the more people that take even the smallest steps, like recycling, can make a big difference.

Thanks Jduck! And thanks JR! Everyone needs to pitch in some, or it won’t work. Remember, this is OUR earth! If you treat it bad, just know, YOU are the one living on it, so it will be bad for you! 😀

that is good but you should add more things to it because these things are not of any use for students.it has just crossed the level of a student may be they are not able to understand what things are these .else everything is fine.
