Toxic Sludge Spill in Tennesee

I was watching the news Christmas Eve at 6:00, when on the TV screen I viewed a massive amount waste (made up of a by-product of coal combustion) covering roughly 80 acres of land. The -4-5 foot deep mess damaged about 15 homes, and polluted a near by Clinch River. The water tests show that it is still drinkable but most residents won’t take chances. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the clean up would range from 4-6 weeks. The amount of waste that will be cleaned up can fill 800 olympic sized swimming pools.
information was gotton from the following web-site

I for one think that this mess will take WAY more than six weeks to clean up, maybe even a year to completelyget things back to normal. What with all the media hype with our new President, the amount of attention this cause needs will defiantly be below necessary. Although I could be wrong, maybe Obama will make this terrible situation a priority on his to-do list. these are just my predictions. Here are some pictures and video of the sludge mess.

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas
